Nancy O’Connor is a Sophomore at Berklee College College of Music, where she is studying Contemporary Writing and Production, with minors in Conducting and Musical Theatre Writing. She is a music director, pianist, arranger, composer, singer and voice over artist.
Nancy is from DeWitt, NY and has been involved in community theater at CNY Playhouse, The Redhouse, Rarely Done Productions, and Appleseed Productions. She is the Founding Music Director of At Rise Productions, a Central New York-based theater company dedicated to providing teenagers the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of theatrical production. She has served as Music Director for several At Rise musicals, including Band Geeks (Spring 2019) and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Spring 2018).
As a composer, Nancy primarily writes musical theater-style music. She has co-written two cabarets of original musical theater music with lyricist Jared Dunn. A production of their cabaret, Teenage Nobodies, was performed in the Catherine Cummings Theatre in Cazenovia in the August, 2019. Nancy has also released several songs on Spotify and other streaming services, including “Which Way to Neverland?” (with lyricist Jared Dunn) which was nominated for a Syracuse Area Music (SAMMY) Award, and was chosen for Berklee’s musical theater writing contest, Curtain Up, for which it will be orchestrated and performed in the Berklee Performance Center.
Nancy currently works as an accompanist for the Boston Children's Chorus and this upcoming year will be the Music Director for Berklee’s Bechdel Theater Group, a student-run group that focuses on producing shows that feature women and queer actors and characters.
